FIRST PROJECT: COOPERATIVE LEARNING AS A WAY OF ORGANIZING THE CLASS


26 january-9th february
The task is about making a guide about cooperative learning:



29th January:

0. MAKING THE PROJECT PLANNING
1.    Put in common the ideas about the readings.
2.    Decide about the content of the readings.
3.    Make a conceptual map with the ideas.




5th February:
4. Introduce your team and show your blog.
5. Make a presentation of the conceptual map.

 5th-12th February:
In this project you will join theory and practice about cooperative Learning. In the first part you will use the conceptual map and the second part you will design an activity using a cooperative learning technique. For that you will decide about a topic, design the teams, organize the class and make the activity with your partners. You will have 15-20 minutes to make the activity. 
The steps to make the project:

1. Making a team plan for this project "Designing cooperative learning activities for the class".
2. Decide about the cooperative learning activity for the practical part of the project.
 3. Design an activity to make with partners in the presentations.
4. Make a paper work joining the theory (conceptual map) and practice (description and materials of the CL activity).

12th February:
 Start with presentations of the projects in Class.

TASKS FOR FIRST PROJECT

Tasks for next week (5 feb):


0. Create the blog for the team. (you can use blogger, wordpress, etc) . The blog shoud contain: members, number of the team and logo, and class attendance.

1. Reading about Cooperative learning:


In each team both readings shoud be read:


  • Guía aprendizaje cooperativo (you can find it in the blog)

2. Bring to class a conceptual map with the main ideas of the readings. (5 february). The conceptual map should answer to the questions:

  • What is cooperative learning?
  • Teacher role? Students role?
  • What are the main ideas to put it in practice?
  • What are the main techniques of CL?
3. In class you will share your conceptual maps and you will show your blog, introducing the team.
